Losing Posts when Responding Login/Join

Hi All,
I know some people are having problems with responding on a thread and when they hit "Post Now" having what they wrote disappear because they are no longer signed in. I've looked for a automatic log out time but have not been able to find a setting. I am going to bring this to Shrinklady's attention to see if anything can be done.

In the meantime, I know it can be really frustrating and very disappointing to work on writing a really long post and then lose it. So I do have a couple of suggestions you can use to avoid this happening until the problem can be fixed.

Before you hit the "Post Now" button, first press Ctrl-A to select everything in the response window, then press Ctrl-C. That way if your text disappears, you can log in, hit reply again and then do a Ctrl-V to paste the text in.

A more dependable method is to write your respnse in another program such as Wordpad, Notebook or Microsoft Office and copy and paste your response from that program into the response window. That way if anything happens you still have everything you wrote. Hope that helps.

AG

Okay, am I the only one who thinks it's totally hilarious that there are no responses on the thread about losing your responses to threads? Laugh

Nope? Okay. Just me.

Carry on. Big Grin

Laugh I hadn't thought of that BG, how funny! Big Grin

BTW for anyone who is interested, Shrinklady has someone from Social Strata (they produce the forum software) looking into the problem. So hopefully, we'll figure out a solution soon.

(But personally, especially for LONG posts, I'd edit in another program).

Mayo,
Don't know what to tell you hon. I don't have access to a Samsung tablet, but I did borrow my boss's Android phone and I was able to access the forum and post. It may be that the forum software is using a plug-in that you do not have installed. You're best bet would probably be to look for a support forum for your tablet and post the question there. Sorry I can't be more help on this one.
