for fun: why did you pick the screen name you did? Login/Join

Hi all ~
just a question about something I am curious about. Why did you pick the screen name you did?

I guess for some of us, maybe it may be our real name, or the name we wish we would have had or it may be just something that came to mind, or it may have special meaning, or it was just anything we could think of...or...

For me, I picked "janedoe" when I registered because, at the time, it really reflected that in my heart, I wanted to be unknown, invisible, annoymous, and so badly... and because I am so struggling with finguring out my own identity, who I am. I wanted to show how to post and yet be unseen. (Weird thinking perhaps?)

Now, I kinda like it in a very different way. janedoe, or jd, or jane - it feels like it isn't so "annoymous" or inivisble and unknown, but ironically a name I use to let myself be known here. And I like that. Smiler

if anyone else wants to share, that's great! and if not, that's totally ok too (of course). I love the wide variety of really neat screen names people have choosen and I'm just curious... Smiler

Hi janedoe:

great question....thanks for sharing why you picked your forum name....

me, I chose Sarah (not my real name) cuz it was biblical .... and, I chose the avatar cuz it seemed to reflect how I feel most days....the being kinda hiding behind their hair...kinda insecure.....

I picked mine because I was lurking here for a long time and just related so much to everyone here, but was so afraid to post for the longest time because the posts are public. So, I was scared to risk myself...hence the screen name.

I picked mine because that's what everyone else sees. Smiley - pretty much all the time. It's the outside of me - it covers everything on the inside.

jill, is not my real name, but i wish it was...she sounds upbeat and happy and like her favorite color is yellow and she had a good childhood and is well adjusted, outgoing and cheerful. sounds like a nice place to hide.

Hi JD...I just thought you might be interested in seeing this thread that BeeBee started a while back...just in case some of these folks don't reply to your thread, you've got some more answers! Big Grin But I am glad you started a "new" thread for this so we find out from the "newer" folks too! Great question, and so much fun to find out a little more about everyone.

REALLY; Because i used the nick name for like 10 years ago, and i have never jused it afterwards.. I think i wanted to use it again, because it reminds me of someone i used to be back then. And, really -FROG- is a very not-personal nick name, i feel anonym and safe using it.

Great question BTWSmiler

Sorry for my bad english! i know it sucks. Must be trubbling trying to understand it.. Smiler i`ll be better as long as i keep reading all your interesting posts in here! Wink

I pick forlorn because it was the feeling that closest match my mood and sounded the most like a feminine name. The end part reminds me of Lauren, which is a pretty name to me.

Cool topic
