Hi I am currently not in therapy, but I feel like it could help me. I believe I have a condition called maladaptive daydreaming, and I also feel like I could be mildly depressed. Do you think counseling could help? How could I get my parents to take me?

Hi Chance and welcome. Can you explain what maladaptive daydreaming is and why you think you have it? If you think you are mildly depressed then talk to your parents about it and let them know that you feel therapy would be helpful. There are also other things you could do like exercise, meditate and be sure you are eating well and getting your sleep. Let your parents know that you need to talk to someone about this. Let us know what happens. TN ********************** "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Hello Chance Not sure what you mean by maladaptive daydreaming, but if you think talking to someone would help, mention it to your family. There are other things as well like True North says, and you can always do those in conjunction with therapy. Therapy can be hard work but it can be useful to have someone from outside your immediate circle to talk with. Keep checking in on here and let us know, I have not always posted but there is always something in posts here, someone who will reply
