I , as part of my homework, have to write a list about what I am really grateful for , that I now have in my life.... I have to list 10 things, so I wondered if anyone else wanted to make a list?
1.That I am blessed with 2 beautiful children
2.That I am married to a man that loves every 'part' of me!
3.That I can smile everyday and laugh at things.
4. That I am never hungry or cold any more.
5.That I can sleep peacefully in my bed
6.That I can change my life for the better
7. That I can give my children the love that i never had and can feel love.
8. That I now have choices
9.That i have some wonderful people now in my life, who love and understand me.
10. That no matter what happened to me in the past, I survived and I am alive. I am so grateful for that. Smiler

Thats my list....anyone else?

DF

I love gratitude lists!

1. I was brought up in a peaceful and safe environment by parents who loved me. This is something everyone should have, and tragically, so many people don't. I should never take that for granted.
2. I am in good physical health.
3. My mother loves and understands me.
4. I have food, shelter, and comfort.
5. I'm slowly coming to realize that I can make my own decisions about what I want in life.
6. My best friend loves, understands, and trusts me. And her 18-month-old son knows and likes me, even though I don't see him very often. It's funny how good that makes me feel.
7. I have a family doctor who always reminds me to take care of my mental and emotional health, and helps me to do it when I feel like I can't.
8. I have people in my life to laugh with.
9. I know now that there's no virtue in punishing myself for my feelings.
10. I still have time. It's not over yet.

Thanks for posting this, Draggers!

Wow, what a nice idea, DF! thank you for sharing this. You are such an amazingly positive person, and I love you for it.

My list:

1. My two absolutely beautiful in every way kiddies and that I can love them and care for them, thank God.
2. That I have the desire to improve lots of the time instead of not caring at all

4. That I have a sister I can talk to
5. That I have my T to help me
6. That I have my SD to help me
7. That I have food and shelter
8. That I have some friends online and off
9. A car to get me and kids from place to place
10. a brain to figure it out

Thanks DF...

Good thread Draggers!

When I first read it I thought bollocks I’m not grateful for anything (by which I mean there’s loads I’m probably grateful for but right now I don’t feel it.) Then thought well what the hell I’ll think about what I could put in a list anyway and actually, realize I do feel grateful even in this crappy time anyway. So here it is

1. I’m grateful for and to my three pussy cats, who make me feel good all the time

2. I’m grateful to be living in England

3. I’m grateful for having a (relatively) supportive husband, without whom I wouldn’t be able to do any of this getting better in therapy stuff

4. I’m grateful for the birds and teeming wildlife where I live, who give me hours of pleasure watching them

5. I’m grateful to be able to afford to buy the things I want (mostly!)

6. I’m grateful that I love food and can enjoy cooking and eating things I really like (that's a nice way of saying I like to pig out regularly)

7. I’m grateful to have a garden, and for the time I can spend in it.

8. I’m grateful for my bed (I *love* my bed) and that I can spend as much time sleeping in it as I want

9. I’m grateful for the internet

10. And not least I’m grateful for and to this forum.

11. You didn’t really think I’d stop at 10 did you Big Grin . I’d like to say I’m grateful to my T, but as I won’t be seeing her properly for a few weeks, that could be a bit pre-emptive. (touch wood).

Hi DF,

Gosh this got me thinking...my T has asked me similar when I've felt despondent about life and my worth. Then it's hard to pull things together, but now it's much easier and I've had to limit myself.

(LL I could have written most of your answers myself, so have tried to not copy!!!! Big Grin)

1. My husband - who I love deeply and who has stood by me totally with all my T stuff and constantly demonstrates that he loves me back.

2. My 2 lovely children, who I am so very proud of

3. For my health

4. My friends

5. Living in a beautiful part of the country, with freedom to come and go as I please

6. Knowing that I, as an adult, am safe

7. Cooking....right there with you LL! Growing food, cooking, eating out...hmmmm, makes me happy sat in the kitchen preparing food

8. My job and the amazingly brave and wonderful people I have met over the years

9. Not sure where to put the dog, so shall pop her in here too Big Grin...for being at my side when I need a friend and being the best listener EVER!

10. MY lovely T, who has the patience of a saint, for all her gentleness and help
