Hello, I'm new - well, I have been lurking for AGES - but have only now felt 'safe' enough to come out of the woodwork (only just though!).

I have been in therapy for about 2 years and have found that many of the experiences posted on this forum mirror my own and I get a lot of comfort from the strength that is shown here and the support you give each other.

I would like to write a bit more about my fears but one of those is that I'll write too much and be a burden or boring! So I'll just add that I feel scared and vulnerable when I think of my post being seen by everyone but you all seem such caring people that I'm going to go for it...!

SMB,
Welcome!! So glad you decided to take the plunge, I love have people posting from the other side of the pond, we pick up such great new phrases. Big Grin

I know it's scary to start posting but we're all here to support each other so post whatever you can when you feel ready. (OK I'm supposed to be on a break but I wanted to pop in and say hi!) Looking forward to getting to know you.

SMB - Welcome!!!!

I'm so glad you have found help from this site even just by reading along and I'm super excited to meet you and that you have decided to join in!

As far as being afraid, that's really very understanable. As the self declared 'queen' of long posts, I can tell you that no worries about posting too much! If it is what you need to do, it's really very ok and welcome here. (everyone is really nice about when I've needed to do it Smiler And yeah, it is scary to be vulunerable, and for me, it's been worth the risk... and people here are generally so acepting and supportive. please feel free to post and join in on what you feel ready to share and talk about. no pressure! just so glad to 'meet' you and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better! Smiler

Welcome SMB! I know it took me a long time to come out of lurk mode and finally feel safe posting, but it does get easier the more you do it. This is a great and very supportive place and I hope that you find it that way too!

Welcome SMB. It's always nice to meet new people. Don't worry about how much or little you say because it's all important to us. I'm glad that reading has been beneficial to you and I look forward to getting to know more of your story too.

hello- welcome! That makes two of us! I`M also new in here, and trying to understand how all this things works.

Whenever you want to, feel ready, I am sure you will be- write whatever you want. It`s NEVER a burden to read peoples history, stories, thoughts. I'm surprised that I myself already have dared to shear a topic in here..It is scary! But I still live! Smiler if there is any encouragement from a newbie like me, your welcome Smiler
It will be nice to get to know you.

Thanks everyone - it really does get easier the more you post!

SG, it's kind of you to ask about my session yesterday. With regards to the eye contact, I didn't manage to improve much. However I did manage to look at him while saying 'mmm' (meaning 'yes') and it didn't freak me out too much! Hopefully if I keep practicing I'll gradually be able to increase the number of syllables Wink!

I do have some other stuff that we covered that I'd be interested in others' opinions on, but had I better start a new thread? Also it's a bit of a strange one for me to explain so it might take me a while to write it down Confused .

Cheers again, S
