I had a doctor's appointment today. It seems like that's all I've been dealing with lately, follow up doctor's appointments, or in this case, the first time I've ever sought out a 2nd opinion cause I didn't like the first doctor's dignosis.

Anyway, I won't go into details, all I'll say is that this doctor said my pelvic floor muscles stay in a contracted state and don't seem to know how to relax. His suggestion (among other things) pelvic floor physical therapy. WTF? You have got to be freaking kidding.

Add this to the list of ways this has been the suckiest week ever. I have not been able to make it through a full work day cause of the sunburn, and now this? Gimme a break.... And to top it off, I'm supposed to soak in a bath for my burn, yet, for some reason, my bath tub chose today to not cooperate, and instead of filling, the water is draining and won't stay in the tub.

I quit. I'm done. I can't take this crap anymore. I want a new body and a new life. ARGH!!!

(((R2G)))

Is that type of therapy as bad as it sounds like it is? I'm so sorry.

I'm sorry, R2G. I know very little about pelvic floor physical therapy or what you are dealing with, but it sounds a bit uncomfortable/awkward. (((((R2G)))))

Yeah... in reading a bit about this "therapy" online, it IS worse than it sounds... Yes, I am in minor pain, but you know what? I'll take that minor pain over the torture of this type of therapy!

This really freaking sucks.

R2G,

Sorry that you are in pain both from the sunburn and the pelvic floor pain. Have you ever read the blog "May We Dance Upon Their Graves". The author suffer from a similar (though perhaps very different) pain and she has found a great deal of pain relief and written about the things she has tried. I don't know if it would help but I thought I would mention it. If you can't find the blog then PM me because I don't think I can put a link up.

((((R2G)))) I kind of thought of looking it up, but I'm afraid it will be triggering. I'm sorry that the treatment sounds worse than the condition itself. Frowner

Seriously, I don't suggest looking it up. It was triggering for ME to even read.

I talked to my T at length about this whole ordeal, and while yes, it's nice to have a dx finally, I don't know that I am willing to go through the torture... this is probably the only time I'd prefer to be dependent on a pill-fix, even if I'm stuck on it forever Frowner

My T knew someone that went through this type of "physical therapy" as well, and she said as torturous as it was, it worked. Now, if I had a leaky bladder or something, maybe I'd consider it... but for my condition? Not so sure...

All I know is that I am liking my body less and less these days... rather a miserable place to reside right now Frowner

Thanks for the hugs everyone... sending some right back to you all!

(((((((YakuLGSTRMUVincognitoBB)))))))

STRM - I love the Gandhi quote in your signature... I just noticed it, and it is rather fitting for me right now!

LG - this is one area where I think being in the dark is actually better!

UV - I did find something out about my sunburn - the med that I'm on says "avoid prolonged sun exposure" and, um, yeah.... I'd say 6 hours in the sun is prolonged sun exposure... no wonder this burn still hurts after 6 days!

incognito - I bookmarked the blog and read the relevant parts of it, very interesting find! Thanks for sharing it!

Beebs - ((((BB)))) right back to you Smiler

Yaku - I don't get it, why do doctors seem to always make the treatment harder than the actual pain? No wonder so many people dread going to the doctor!

I will get through this, I will get through this, I will get through this....
