Well Im excited because I got my ears pierced for the first time ever! YAY..

It HURT a lot more than I expected... Ive had a lot of needles in my life and that gun thing really was painful to me but after it went numb and havn't felt anything as of yet...

I got titanium aquamarine studs to wear for the first 6 weeks. I got some little butterfly studs (big shock) to wear after for the 6 months you have to do for them to stay.... sheesh...

it's VERY hard for me to manipulate the things with my fingers.. Im amazed..... earings arent arthritis friendly! lol...

anyways, it ws fun... loved it.. im very happy and excited about this...

I'm glad you got your ears pierced! Sorry it hurt. I got my ears pierced about to years ago. I wore them about a year but let them close. I kept getting infections regardless of my obsessive need to clean them.
The fine motor was also a little much for me. The little ones got frustrated and hid my earrings. And that was the end of that...

After the six weeks, try wearing earrings with the French wires (basically it a wire hook) I bet they would be much easier to put on and take off. That kind is pretty much all I wear. I like how they dangle!

BW,
My solution is find a simple set of studs that I can sleep in without it being uncomfortable and just leave them in. I change my second holes like once every three months. Once the six months are over then take them out and switch to the wires. I agree with River, lots easier to get in and out! I bet you look fabulous! Big Grin

Im finding the small studs hard to deal with in relation to my arthrtiis but i figure other people with this dang disease do it so i should be able to. I dont have major hand issues but the recent ones really are irritating with the smallness.... urgh

so far, no infection thouhg !! Smiler NO pain in them. somw swelling and itchiness but i just clean clean clean... LOL.... 3 times a day as they said and not touching them otherwise unless something feels off...

Yeah, I remember getting my ears pierced. Big decision back in those days. Kids never had their ears pierced. You had to wait til you were an adult. It was one of those things that made life simpler...didn't have to wear earings that pinched my ears....didn't lose them.

I was a tomboy and it gave me that feeling of being feminine. Very nice...like I was all growed up!

I remember my grandmother having hers pierced for the first time in her 60's! You're never too old to try something new.
