Dude et al.:
So, your physical body is female and you are married to a male? I am just trying to fully understand..... Deb |

The outside/physical body is female and married (for 18 years) and I am very much male and unmarried. Sorry it's so confusing for you.

I call him 'the husband' not MY husband. Perhaps that is a pickiness on my part though. He knows of all of us insiders, he can (mostly) tell who is who by how we look, talk, or our opinions on things. He is very supportive. Our therapist can tell who is 'out' (as we call it) and sitting in the waiting room by a glance.. she says the energy is different for each of us.
I don't mind the questions. I know you're just trying to understand and that's cool. dude |

Dude et al.:
I think I am starting to understand on a deeper level....thank you for sharing all that you have....I was wondering if you had experienced some form of trauma/traumas in your life? Also, if the insiders emerged as a way of coping with said trauma/traumas? The body is truly remarkable..... Take good care Deb |

Debra-
Two book suggestions about personal accounts on DID that are exceptionaly written and really help in understanding the basics of living with others inside. First Person Plaural By Dr Cameron West - Dr West's website: http://www.cameronwest.com/ and A Fractured Mind by Robert Oxnam - a bit about it: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/09/30/60minutes/printable892181.shtml what doesn't kill you makes you stronger but if it does kill you, than it doesn't matter anyways- unknown |

Butterfly Warrior:
Thanks for the info on the two books.....much appreciated.... Deb |

I haven't read the second book, but Cameron West's is good. The basic idea is that the trauma was so great that the person couldn't hold it. They 'created' someone else to do so... so, yes, there was a LOT of trauma. Each insider has his/her own memories that the body (host) may or may not know about. Does that help?

Yes, I have become enlightened! Thank you again for being open to sharing.... Deb |

Just so you know... as in most things in life, we are each unique and although our dx may be the same as in these books, our experiences of it may not be. We are what is termed 'co-conscious' for the most part (no pun intended!) This means that each insider often knows what the other insiders are doing. I do't think Cam West's book is like this. Also, a lot of people call us insiders 'parts', which I think is a terrible term! I am not 'a part' I am a whole person!
I'm in a bit of a funk this week... hope I don't come across too defensive. dude |

Dude et al.:
As I have written earlier, I don't view individuals as a dx...rather, I see each individual that I meet up with (whether in my professional or personal life) as an intricate and unique person/persons (as I have now been enlightened)....Did you want to share why it is that you are in a "funk"? Deb |

In a nutshell... bad memories and triggers. Today it was the wasps in the kitchen while I was trying to cook dinner. I totally flipped out, I had to lock myself in the bedroom and call my T (leaving a message... I don't know why T's never answer their phones!). I didn't deal well at all. I was set to take the kids to McDonald's for dinner, but the husband showed up and made dinner for us instead. I'm still worried one is hovering around the kitchen searching for me! I think they have a personal thing against me and are out to get me in particular! Irrational I know. But it's all due to a bad experience with an abusive man who claimed to have power over all sorts of insects.

Dude et al.:
I guess with the emergence of the sunshine, so come the wasps......do you have screens on your windows and doors? I was wondering how wasps get into your house??? Maybe with the children running in and out??? I am hopeful that things have settled somewhat and that you are having a peaceful, relaxing evening......I don't know about you but I really like McDonald's french fries......Take good care..... D |
