I found an article on the web that I though a lot of people would be interested in:

Dependency in the Treatment of Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder & Dissociative Disorders

It's slightly heavy going because it's written for practioners to it uses a lot of technical jargon, but it makes a really good, clear, case for the necessity of dependency in treatment plans for trauma.

If you read it and like it, there's a lot of good articles on the site.

Wow AG,
I just read the article. I clearly see myself in parts. Before therapy- I would say,"that is too bad for those people", but now I see- to an extent- I am one of those people. Eeker It also gives me some idea as to why my T acts the way he does.
As always- thanks for the insights.

just pulling this up again. this is a terrific article, and links into other terrific stuff. it is helping me understand that i really DO have PTSD, thought that was only reserved for 'serious abuse' and war victims. but i sure have the symptoms, and identifying this will surely help towards curing the issue. "principles of clinical work with traumatized children", "commmon responses to trauma and coping strategies", "dependency inthe treatment of Complex stress disorder and dissaciative disorder" are just a few of the links i have printed out.

hope y'all explore this and it's links if this is "YOU"...thanks AG for your continued wealth of knowledge you share with us!! jill
