I found a great article on the web by a clinical psychologist about how our mind functions in an attempt to keep us safe. It made a lot of sense to me and I thought a lot of people could really relate, so I thought I would post a link.
What is a mind? AG ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end." My blog: Tales of a Boundary Ninja |

thanks for the link AG, I found many parts of the site interesting and funny.
I'll be interested to see what the next 2 parts say because it sounds very similar to the book I just started reading on the advice of my T called "The Happiness Trap". It describes thoughts much the same way and goes on to describe ways to remind yourself that your thoughts aren't facts. |

This is a great article AG.
I love his humorous approach to discussing something that many in the field make so complicated. Another reason why I am drawn to Shrinklady's website too. It is a relief to be able to read _and understand_ the complexity of our minds w/o having to re-read the same paragraph over and over because someone has chosen to encrypt their message with their verbose flair. I look forward to his next article. Thanks for sharing! JM |
