this is a good site for safe free online games if you need a moment or two to distract through a rough time. It was passed on to me by my T after she read a study about how non-triggering video games can help PTSD veterans get through tough moments of being flooded. http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ one other game for quad tetris http://onemorelevel.com/game/quad_tetris just passing it onThis message has been edited. Jane, Thanks! I play solitaire and other games on my ipod to distract and get my mind off bad stuff for a few minutes. solitare! I love that game. I have gotten into sudoku and carry a small book of sudoku puzzles in my bag now. This is a game called popwords - like a verbal twist on tetris: http://www.eastoftheweb.com/games/Popword.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...and he whispered to the horse, trust no man in whose eyes you do not see yourself reflected as an equal." ~ unknown “Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. http://www.lumosity.com/ This website designed by a univeristy has different "brain training games" including a course for people with PTSD. I did it for a couple of months about a year ago, and I think I am going to do it again. It's supposed to help over time with some of the cognitive effects of PTSD. I'm not sure if it does that for me or not, but I'm working on going back to school and I think it helps me with focus. Either way, it's a good distraction. It's free to try out for two weeks (and no weird stuff about it). It was recommended to me by an OT I saw a few times to help me deal with hoe PTSD affects me at work and school. Just thought I'd pass it on in case anyone is interested or would find it helpful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...and he whispered to the horse, trust no man in whose eyes you do not see yourself reflected as an equal." ~ unknown “Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
