Psychotherapy Classics

Hi Mayo, yes, that's what I understood, too. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near that yet. With T having left this week, I've been getting triggered no matter where I am or what I'm doing. The body sensations feel overwhelming. Li'l one feels utterly terrified and desperate that ALL key people in her life (few as they may be) are going to leave and never come back. The adult me has been craving numbness this week by way of alcohol. I sometimes wonder why I started down this healing path,...Read More...

Yesterday's Session

TAS, I can definitely see how your T allowing contact outside of sessions and then taking it away is awful and must be bringing up tons of nightmares from your past. Most of us are in this condition partly due to the people we relied on to meet our needs being horribly inconsistent in meeting them. I don't know if you can get him to change the boundary back or not but this may be the opportunity to express all the rage and despair you feel because of this. Don't protect him. He can take it.Read More...

life lesson

well i will definitely be checking those videos out, cat! pets really are inspiratonal. such strength of character they have. i bet so much of that is being uninhibited by what others say or think. the human brain really is both a blessing and a curse. let us all enjoy the innocence and honestly of our pets.Read More...
dear RabbitEars quote: take care of your wants and needs, RT. if you derive pleasure from it, it's worth it. also, it seems to me there has never been a lack of contributions on your morning peeps threads. this place is kind of like therapy this way ... leaves you lots of room to explore things about yourself (you just have to get your head to allow it). be easy on yourself and don't worry so much what others think (easier said than done, i know). take heed.Read More...

Repetition Compulsion article

I found it helpful. I think the steps to stopping could be a lot more detailed with examples! On the illness thing - maybe they mean consistently struggling instead of getting help? I have a friend who constantly struggles with her joints but just keeps complaining..not getting any help. I've done a lot of work with a good therapist for a few years and it sure helps. We are currently working through how to stop the repetition compulsion and it's a process for sure. Being really aware of...Read More...

I wonder if our love for T depends on what stage we were wounded. Mine was from the moment of conception so I'm suck at a very early level. I'm desperate for T to be the 'good breast'. I want to take her into my mouth for oral satisfaction.Read More...

Afraid to come back after you start a discussion?

thank you for starting this post turtle and everyone who replied. i can relate too... i think for me its feeling overwhelmed and like i dont deserve all the nice replies... i have found though that time and practice does help! i used to be a lot 'shyer' and the feeling returns if i've been away for a while, but also i have been reminded time and time again of the feeling of support on this forum! i hope it gets easier for all of us! puppetRead More...

T questions...

catalyst
1. Does your T yawn in your therapy? Thoughts? Yes, but she does her best to hide them. It doesn't bother me though. 2. Does your T admit when they are tired? Thoughts? Yup. At first it bothered me but not so much anymore. 3. Does your T act different at different times of the day? Definitely! She's more engaged in the mornings and maybe like the hour after lunch. Towards the late afternoon is when she starts to hit her dip lol. I've had my appts with her at all hours lol. I've also told her...Read More...
