I was too busy trying NOT to get tricked by the kids that i didn't have time to come up with a good trick to play on anyone else. LOL.... they did their usual stuffing my shoe toes with paper so my foot doesn't fit (you'd think I'd figure that one out eventually!) last year they switched tne salt and sugar so i kept checking before using either yesterday ScottRead More...

cell phones...

thedude
I think in some countries like Switzerland... my understanding is that the use of cell or hand phones is so part of life that everyone has them including children and its normal. They are even used to make ATM charge transactions!! Which I think is.... weird.. but yeh.. thatd what I heard at least.. lol. I know for me. once I got a cell phone, it made life way easier. I had a power chair at the time that had tires that took air and I would get flats and needed help!!! I didnt have a phone at...Read More...

Dealing with Activation

I can definitely relate. In some sense, the whole process of therapy is dealing with your stuff enough to be ABLE to slow down. I often find that classical or new age instrumental music can really help me slow down. At a minimum, it doesn't speed me up.Read More...

Easter...

thedude
Hi Dude, The Easter bunny showed at our house, much to the delight of my daughters who were worried they might be too old for him to show (14 and 16)! If you're celebrating it, Happy Easter!Read More...

Conference

butterflywarrior
the conference was absolutely AWESOME!!! It was so incredibly laid back!!! I plan to do a write up about it so once I do that, I will post it here. I hope to write a lot but it depends on things like ability to type.. lol... It was empowering as a feminist and validating as someone who has expereinced marginilized identities as a biracial disabled woman of color. I can't say enough about AWP's conference and I just really absorbed so much power and beauty. My favorite.. well one of my...Read More...

The train set... ah... that's what helping me to be me. Something just for me. I suppose that's what ticked me off about this book (which i finished reading) was that it was for ME... and yes, interference always happens. Hobbies

thedude
A hobby is a good thing... I'm still figuring how to deal with actually spending money on 'me' rather than on others! I'm trying to take care of 'me' but it does make me feel rather selfish. Some other insider is 'causing me grief' so I'm already ready to give up on having a hobby! I won't get into it... but it was another day when I could hardly stop crying. I'm so NOT used to that feeling! My T (who did phone me... phoned during my 'crisis' mode! which is why I posted that other...Read More...

HI

Hello Charmedone.. welcome How old is your son? Sounds like a difficult diagnosis. Do you know what type of Schizophrenia he has?? I believe that drinking (substance abuse) is a common problem for people with other major psychiatric disorders... technicaly referred to as dual diagnosis (substance abuse plus another clinical disorder). It is a way of self medicating and I always find it interesting that someone isn't willing to take prescribed drugs but will take another type of drug (ie...Read More...

considering going back

Hi kvilter, welcome. Boy, that's toughie. I think it's great that you took a risk to reach for your friend. Many people might have had a different reaction. They might have been hurt too, but willing to look at it and to thank-you for risking to say this. Another person might have more open and asked more questions about how you arrived at this. Whether she was ready to hear or not, I don't think is your responsibility for how she reacted. We can't help but hurt people if we want honesty in...Read More...
