I was just "looking inside" a book on adult attachment at Amazon and found the statistic that about 3 to 5 percent of the population can be categorized as having disorganized attachment. Just over 50% are secure, 25% avoidant and 20% anxious. This goes a long way towards explaining why more therapists aren't better at handling patients with disorganized attachment. Rarer than I realized. Just wanted to share as I thought other people might be interested.
