It's interesting stuff - attachment theories, I studied it last year and yes I think more knowledge about the attachment styles certainly provides a person with a greater understanding of human relations and how we react to people, situations and the environment around us. If you are interested in it have a look at John Bowlby - he is highly regarded in that field. There is a book called "Becoming Attached" by Karen Robert that is also interesting if you up to it.
