I think you should do what feels right for yourself. The doc doesn't feel your feelings. and that's a very long time to do without. I sure wish I had cared enough about myself to go see someone during vacations. I had separation anxiety so bad I nearly died. You don't owe them any extraordinary loyalty either.
Next month, when my T goes on vacation, I'm going to a group therapy I like,and costs way less. So, my advice is to follow your own heart, and if you feel like talking to someone to fill the gap, then go for it.
