Hmm, now I'm torn - I was thinking of group therapy with these dudes.
Monte:
1-800-THE-GREY (in the U.S., that is), don't know about anywhere else. He is terribly expensive because everyone and their dog wants to get into him, and his waiting list is several years long. Good luck!
Jones:
Boy do I miss my weekly "group therapy". Watched that show faithfully as a kid, but never did see that episode. Loved that song, too, but I never really got if from the angle I did just now. Thanks for that!
Thanks for the laugh, ladies!!

BB,
Don't feel bad, I've been in love with Aragorn since I was 14 and I'm 49!
Monte, if you get in could you get me a referral? (I actually took my kids out of school so we could go see a triple feature the day the Return of the King was released and embarrassing to say, I've read LOTR 19 times! I actually know the history and geography of Middle Earth better than ours. Man, I need a life! Of course, I'm old enough to remember when the whole fantasy section of the bookstore was Jules Verne and Tolkien, so he holds a special place in my heart. I have a first edition copy of the Simarillion and I'll understand if no one wants anything to do with me from this point forward. )

I just wanted to pop in here and say this thread is just hysterical. Thanks for the laughs! I heard The Gambler on my way home the other night and started laughing. I don't think I'll ever be able to hear that song again without thinking about you, Jones.
I'm ashamed to say I'm not as familiar with LOTR as all of you. But I really understand getting wisdom where you find it, so no worries, AG - I don't think anyone is going to shun you! Your love of LOTR sounds a lot like my love of the Clan of the Cave Bear series (if you've ever had the misfortune to see the movie, please don't judge the books on that - the movie was horrible because there is simply no way to translate the books into a movie). I absolutely love the story and the development of the characters. I used to have paperbacks but they were falling apart from being read so many times, so my husband surprised me on my birthday one year by buying me hardcover copies. I've actually highlighted in them and taken notes. And there are maps and geography that go with that story, too. So I really understand being completely taken in and even transformed by a story. But I haven't gone as far as to learn how to use a sling, or tame a lion for a pet...so I suppose there is still hope for me.
