love it, Monte - beautiful. I have a similar fantasy.
ha ha - no, mine's more of an old Czech castle, but also with stairs up and up and up, and a panel of old wise adviser-confidantes, from whom I can choose my company... & I promise Gandalf doesn't sit on the panel.
Kenny.
Rogers, not South Park.
fun, but I'm not sure my castle will ever be the same again.... Santa? Colonel Sanders? WTF are you doing here?
There will be compulsory beard tugging before I start confiding the contents of my secret heart. But probably the lyrics of The Gambler will do for sympathetic advice in any case.
quote:My perfect T would be very tall and very old, but in an ageless Gandalf kind of way.
Monte / Jones- that was great!!!
My T is tall and old (well- he thinks he is old, he told me that he is 57 in our last session- yeah he seems to make random comments sometimes) but no beard.
He does have a big comfy couch and 2 chairs to sink into, and NO table between us. That would bother me, unless I could put my feet up. i would have to put my feet up, and since it is Rogerian- client centered, he wouldn't mind.
Maybe next session I will lay on the couch- you know like they did in the olden days. Freuds way- ok maybe not.
Love the mantle idea with all of your own childhood stuff.
In the waiting room- I was looking at the book selection when he walked in. One book- a part of a fantastic series I had read was there. No Tears for the Giraffe. After telling him about the series- Ladies #1 Detective Agency, he said that he would read the book. Yeah- I've heard that before- he probably won't, though. (this is part of our break down stuff)
Also- I have a question- Why- When I told him that it was my birthday, (last Wednesday) wouldn't he respond? the normal thing to say is Happy birthday- but does he say that? No- he just looks at me, and says nothing- like I didn't even say it. The conversation changes- and a few minutes later- he tells me he is 57, WTF? I didn't ask how old he was. Some things with him are very confusing. I guess I am touching on the fact- that maybe I am a bit angry at him too.
I am not getting very far with transference stuff.
maybe he disociates,
and my next visit with him- two weeks later is on my daughter's birthday.
Guess I will keep that to myself, and tell him my age instead.

That is so odd, Mayo. Maybe it was some counter transference issue? I won't try to guess exactly what, but maybe he has some age issue...who knows. I'm sorry that he reacted that way with you, though. You are totally right in that anyone, even a complete stranger, would say happy birthday to you.
Oh, and happy belated birthday!!
Oh, and happy belated birthday!!
thank you, Kashley
Hey, happy birthday from me too, Mayo - whatever is up with your T, that is worth celebrating, & I'm so glad we have you around.
Yes, happy belated birthday Mayo!!
Also, the discussion of rooms has been really great. It's made me think about my working space at home, and how I can make it feel more inviting to work (install several storeys of stairs??).
Yes jones- and conquer them wearing heels.
thanks all- for the B'day wishes
