FOT,
You have every right to be angry!! I don't remember where you live but in NY state what your Ps office did would actually be a violation of the law. At a minimum, you probably have a pretty good basis for a civil law suit. I do think it's a breech of ethics that your privacy is being treated so cavailerly. Confidentiality is important in any medical field, but doubly so in a psychiatric practice. I understand forgiving it the first time it happened. Everyone is human and mistakes occasionally happen but it's obvious that this is not under control. I can understand where you feel like you just can't trust that your confidence will be respected. If they can't get something this small and easy correct, I can understand being worried about what else is slipping.

May I make a possible suggestion (which might now help as I don't know your insurance position or availability, etc.) but have you considered possibly seeing another type of counselor, such as a CSW (certified Social Worker) and possibly try to look for someone who specializes in patients that have been injured by an unethical therapist. Your strongest need right now is to find someone who won't close professional ranks, or be too busy worrying about their own rear to not put you first. I'm just wondering if looking for someone with another type of degree might help you find someone who wouldn't have a need to stay away from what you need to talk about. (BTW, the two who refused to talk about it? WTF? Then go into another line of work, damnit. You should be able to talk about anything you want to, it's YOUR therapy.)

I'm so sorry, you've worked so hard and courageously to try to heal despite some horrible setbacks, and it just doesn't seem fair that you're dealing with this on top of all the rest of it.

(((((FOT)))))))
