Deepfried...obviously, an incredibe amount of emotions in this one and I agree with Frog and STRM...very moving. I had a bit of a breakthrough recently with my childhood and all of the resentments I was clinging to...I finally let them go and forgave. It was difficult and took many years. I, like you, learned many great lessons from my parents...ones that today I know make me a better person. I, like you, have many lessons I spent years learning from them that swirled me in a lot of pain for many years and I've spent the last few years trying to "unlearn" them. Your poem struck many chords for me, it was beautiful, really, I mean that. I would have never guessed that your last poem was in 4th grade Smiler Take care, Hals
deepfried,

I think your poem expresses the duality of what one receives from parents. It is more than kind to them and reflects a lot of hard work on your part. You are released from from owning what is not yours to own and free to take ownership of what you want to grow. It is very thoughtful to also want the same for your sibling. Good for you!
