Wanted to know if there were any 'fandom-y' people here? You know, if you get absorbed by certain forms of media and if you belong to internet groups about it?

For example, I am an anime fan. Wink Not to the extent of a pure 'otaku', but I do love my manga and anime in my own space and terms, especially shoujo (girls' anime) and slice of life series. I do love dark things, though, like Kuroshitsuji (hooked on that at the moment!).

As for shows, I am a fan of Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory (no matter what, always brings a smile to my face), Sherlock (the BBC series), Rome and The Tudors. I am a HUGE fan of historical fiction, whether it be books or television or movies!

I also like Lord of the Rings/Tolkien works, so there's that too!

Wondering if there were any fellow geeks out there?

My brother loves Howl's Moving Castle. Smiler I like it too, and the soundtrack is amazing. Well, Joe Hisaishi is amazing, overall! Have you heard any of his other stuff?

Can you believe I only watched Totoro for the first time last year? It's like the iconic symbol of Studio Ghibli and I hadn't for so long, heehee.

I've been wanting to see Grave of the Fireflies!! I bought for a friend as a Christmas gift, he told me it was a tear fest and I've been hesistant to see it since then. The story sounds really beautiful and full of truths, though.
Awesome! There are some animes I've seen only in different languages from Japanese. For example, I grew up with Cardcaptor Sakura in Spanish and I still refuse to watch it in its original language. Do you prefer dubs or subs?

From what I know, compose music for most (if not all) of Miyazaki's movies, and he's done soundtracks for other live-action movies too, like, Kikujiro (which I really recommend!)
