Hi Lorena... I'm not too sure about CBT therapy because it didn't fit my needs but I believe it's generally a shorter-term therapy, it focuses on the here and now and your reactions to certain stimuli. It works to change your behavior and reactions to certain things by changing how you view those things. And also by exposing the person gradually to what they fear. I believe it's useful for people with phobias. That's about what I know. I don't believe CBT therapists delve into your past and deal with things such as attachment, complex trauma, and abusive situations.

Hi HB,

I am so sorry to hear your sister in law is so ill.

What you described is the very same as is happening with my P. I don't know what has happened but just in the last couple of days, I feel as if a huge weight or a dark cloud has lifted from me and I feel a peacefulness which I have never felt before.

I have always had lots of fears which really affected my life but now I feel lots of strength coming out in me.

My P is also very brilliant in that he knows what is in my mind long before I do.LOL It also helps that he has a lot of empathy as well.

I hope he will always be in my life; but don't think that will happen, he needs a break from me.LOL

Thanks for your comment; that really helped me a lot. Your sister in law will be in my prayers. Lorena
