I took one of those quizzes where they show you photographs of people with different expressions and you have a multiple choice to guess what each expression is.

I scored 15/20. I was kind of expecting better, but seeing which ones I got wrong was illuminating.

My most spectacular failure was mistaking compassion for anger. Eeker I thought, this could partly explain why therapy has taken me so long.

You can take the quiz here (it's free):

Feel free to post about your results in the comments here if you'd like! I thought some of you might enjoy it.

14 out of 20.

Personally I think the survey offers little depth in the sense that a person needs to see body language together with facial expression in order to get a good reading. Furthermore one needs to add culturalism, environment, choice of words, pauses between words, tone of voice, and for me anyway I rely a LOT on feeling too. I suppose it is as good as you get for 20 questions. Did enjoy doing it (thanks HIC) but wouldn't go on those results.

Oh man my abdomen hurts from laughing - I had some good sarcastic mental alternatives to some faces - one where the girl is definitely chortling MUAHAHAHA.

18/20

Hated the really, really, really tanned blue eyed man. If my T's compassion face looked like his (I got that one wrong) I'd ask her if she forgot to breathe.

Thanks for posting this! It was fun and informative.
