My T had suggested when I think/say " I am (fill in: frustrated, angry, etc)" that I then record my voice saying it, then fill in another word- (i.e- "frustrated"--- change to " annoyed, etc)"

I`m not stupid- but why is he asking me to fill in another verb? Is it b/c I`m not aware of my emotions (b/c I never had a role model who helped me identify them?). It`s confusing?

Maybe he is wanting you to add to and learn more emotional vocabulary in order to describe all your feelings. I know I have a limited vocabulary of emotional words and T has been asking me to use other words and to describe what the word means to me. I think children learn to identify their emotions as a developmental step with healthy parents and I'm sure many of us have skipped this step and are trying to learn it now.

I don't know about the tape recording part though... it would definitely inhibit me to do that.

Take care
