I just had to share this. I just finished reading a really amazing book General Theory of Love that discussions love in relationship to neurobiology and brain development. Its written for the layman and explains the brain stuff in really clear language. It really helped me understand the work I'm doing right now in therapy, especially the idea that the experience that heals us isn't about intellectual understanding but experiencing a safe attachment. And why the theraputic relationship is a healing one. Their take on therapy has made an immense difference in my ability to be patient with myself. It makes sense now that its taking time. Anyway, I highly recommend it.
