2009 has been the year of dramatic ups and downs, and persistent anxiety. I feel like everything in my life is in flux (divorce, career stalling, job interview, T moving, family far away, new home, and no money). For some time, I have been working off of an inner reserve of energy (probably produced by anxiety) but, the last few days I've been listless. I cannot concentrate, I just want to sleep for days, and I've got so many things to do. I can't seem to get myself motivated, not even to draw. I need a lift...that doesn't involve drugs or alcohol. Wink What to do...what to do....

Thanks for the suggestions. I need to focus on a presentation of Northern & Italian Renaissance art for a job interview on Thursday but I'm so out of it that it's hard to concentrate on the material. I suppose slacking on the cigarettes and chocolate would help a little... Roll Eyes

I take Wellbutrin XR and it served its purpose well but now, like you, I'd like to move on to more natural alternatives. Be sure to post if you come across anything worthwhile (I've tried St. John's Wort and Valarian Root, giving each about 6 months of trial, but didn't see results).
Summer and QG,

I started antidepressants in the beginning of March, and have been pleased with the results, and will continue with them for a while. About the time my ADs kicked in, a friend of mine started taking enzymes for anxiety. We both started having very similar results-hers were immediate, mine had taken 1-4 weeks to take effect. She feels like they have given her major relief from her anxiety, and allowed her to continue looking at and working on her issues with her therapist. I'm not sure what the enzymes are, but you might be able to find info on the net, or maybe find a naturopath in your area that knows about them. If you want, I can find the name of them for you, but you'd need some kind of naturopath to look at your specific case and needs, because the regimen is different for everyone.

Hope you're able to focus on Renaissance art, QG.
