Thank you for sharing, so... they are really having human emotions. And I am sorry about your acquaintance and the pain of your friend.
TW ******* beware ********
but that means that if I ever made a plan (I haven't) I would have to protect T even more from knowing about the result... not convenient

BLT, thank you for sharing this story. I am so sorry because it is very tragic but I needed to hear the message behind the story. I feel awful for your T friend. She sounded devastated.

Wow. That was very powerful. I'm glad you were there for your T friend when she heard, and I'm so sorry about your acquaintance that died. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, thank you for sharing. It is very sad but also a touching experience. I wonder if that young girl ever knew how much her T truly cared.
Thank you for sharing BLT and so sorry about your (and her) loss.
Wow. That is so powerful. I am sorry that such a touching reminder to us all had to come from something so tragic.
Sorry for your loss.

(((BLT))) Thank you for sharing this with us, and I to, am very sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you were able to be there for your friend by showing compassion, and wonderful support. T's are just like us, and go through a lot of trials and tribulations too, and this is just a needed reminder of reality.

This is exactly how I feel. I'm finding it hard to get the image of your friend, sobbing on the sidewalk, out of my mind, and how hard it must be for her as she may not be in a position to openly express her grief to her client's family and friends. It would be so very difficult to suffer this sort of loss in silence, which is what I imagine clients do if their Ps or Ts die unexpectedly, and now I realize it can be just as difficult for them.
I'm also glad that you were there for her when she heard the news, so she wasn't totally alone. I can only imagine the shock you must be dealing with as well.
Was this a young or new therapist? I ask because of the part where she is calling her supervisor.
It certainly does sound as though this one situation did hit this one therapist hard for whatever reason.

No, she is not a new or young T, but the best T's know when to ask for supervision or consultation even when they are experienced, since it can always help to get an outside persepctive.
"Hit her hard for whatever reason"???
Hmmmm...I'm having a hard time with that statement.

I don't understand.
I just meant that particular therapist had a strong reaction around the situation of that specific client.
I tend to believe that most responses around death are about the responder rather than the demisee. I completely agree therapists are all too solid flesh.
Thanks for clarifying.
Thank you for sharing this BLT. It really gave me something to think about. I do believe that my T would be very distraught if something ever happened to me.
