Hello - I am new also. Um, well not really new. While I am new to you all, I have been hanging around a little...well a lot, so you don't feel new to me. I have been really amazed at the level of support that many find here, and those same people turn around and offer such insight to others - it's wonderful! I've Been dealing w/ feelings of attachment toward my T for a while and more recently have started feeling really flooded with all of the emotions that come with it. Relieved to have found this place.

I'm new as well seablue so I decided just to hitch a ride on your thread. I've been reading here for over a year and like you, have found this forum to be so valuable in my therapeutic journey.
I'm also deeply connected to my therapist!

Welcome seablue and In Progress! Sometimes I forget about all the anonymous lurkers on the forum, and I hope I haven't posted anything too crazy for you! I didn't lurk for very long before I joined. It still feels a bit risky to post, and some days/weeks I go for awhile without adding much, but when I do the support here is awesome. I hope you feel comfortable here.
Welcome seablue and In Progress. A lot of us have the same issues and backgrounds and we can really relate and understand what you are going through and how you are feeling. Get comfortable and please let us know more about you.
As you may have read I have a wonderful male T (most of the time), except when I'm angry with him (sometimes) but overall he has helped me a lot and we do have a very attuned relationship. I do have attachment injury and have attached to him. I am also grappling with complex trauma from an abusive childhood. I think there is a strong correlation between people with attachment and trauma issues and developing strong transference with their Ts and Ps. It is such a heady feeling when someone finally listens to you, understands you, meets some of your needs and gives you empathy and compassion. We would be crazy NOT to attach to someone like that!
Anyway, welcome and I look forward to getting to know you both better.

Welcome, Seablue and In Progress! I lurked for quite a while too before I joined in. I'm glad to meet you and I hope that you find support, encouragement, and friendship here.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.
MH - Your posts have not scared me away.
This is very foreign to me. My only source of real support has been my therapist (my choice), so I have been very isolated with my feelings. Even though the forum is anonymous, this is kind of a big deal for me.

Hi seablue and in progress! Welcome to the forums! You have made a great choice to come out of lurkdom! I too lurked here for quite a while before joining and deciding to actually take the scary step to post my first time, and it's still a little scary. I can sympathize with you seablue in that it IS a big deal to put your feelings out there, but like True North said, we all have a lot in common on the forums here and although none of us has exactly the same "stuff" in our backgrounds, it's all similar enough in one way or another that we can lend each other some support, advice or encouragement than can be like none other. I too have only had support from my therapist (and my mom, but she's part of the reason I'm in therapy! ) so this place has been such a wellspring of information and a place of comfort and reassurance that I'm "normal" when I have had no where else to turn for answers to my issues. Like others have said, please don't hesitate to put yourselves out there and be a part of this community. As they say, "the more the merrier", and I know that for me, I can use all the support on this crazy journey that I can possibly get!!
Welcome!!

Just give me enough time, SB. I haven't put my best material out there yet!
