First things first, I want to thank Shrinklady and Attachment Girl for all the work they've put into these forums, especially lately, and giving us a safe place to discuss our therapy experiences. I want to make sure above all that I make my appreciation for that understood, because otherwise, the suggestions below might sound ungrateful. So, many thanks for all you guys do!

I was wondering about maybe moving "Announcements" under the "Welcome to the Counseling Psych Cafe" section, since they are read-only and the "Introductions" into the "General Discussion" section.

My reasoning behind this suggestion is two-fold:

1. It really bumps the general discussion (where most of the participation is) down pretty low on the page, which makes it more work to get to. This is more of a problem on my phone. It starts to look a bit cluttered. Kind of a less is more sort of idea here.

2. If we're not currently planning on adding more sub-categories to Announcements and Introductions, they they don't really belong as a separate section, I think. It feels like a layout no-no to me. For example, when making an outline, I was always told that if you didn't have at least two sub-divisions (A & B or 1 & 2), it didn't belong as a separate point and should just be included in the level above. I don't know if that makes sense.

Anyway. Thoughts? I am probably just being too nitpicky. I've been known to do that in the past. I'm find just leaving it, but since I noticed it, I thought I'd bring it up. Smiler

Yaku,
The layout was deliberate so that both Announcements and Introductions would have high visibility. I envisioned the announcements as an area which would be used when it was important for everyone on the site to see the info. I am afraid that if I move it up into the Welcome it will be too easily overlooked.

And I wanted the Intro section to be prominent for obvious reasons. Your first post is always the scariest and the more people who notice, the quicker the response and the less first post anxiety. Smiler

I am open to suggestions however. If this is making a lot of people unhappy definitely speak up. Yaku I'm glad you brought it up.

All feedback is welcome; feel free to PM me if that is more comfortable for anyone.
