I would really appreciate some prayers right now. A fe hours ago, my daughter (who just has surgery on Friday) realized that one of her eyes was fixed and dilated larger than the other. I called the surgeon's office and they weren't sure what was going on so they sent us to urgent care. We're waiting to see the doctor. It's just been harrowing through the past week and my daughter is at breaking point and I'm fighting panic. So much so I broke the rules and directly texted my T (immediately got a reassuring reply). We could use any help we can get, thanks.

AG

Ps I'll update as soon as I can.

AG...just got back on line. Lost my internet service for awhile. Glad to see your update.

Keep calm and remember they said it was not an emergency so it can't be that serious. They are pretty careful about these things and usually err on side of caution. Please breathe and remember it will be okay. Not an emergency. I know how you feel and I'm sorry it's all come at once. Life can be sucky like that. I know from my own various trips to ER with my son within 3 months. I think it's harder on the parent.

Sending prayers and hugs.

Thank you everyone so much for your replies, it helped so much to know you were all here.

We saw the opthalmologist and the good news is that there was nothing serious wrong, like a brain tumor or stroke (started breathing again when i heard that) but she does have a rare neurological disorder known as Adie's Pupil in which the pupil of one eye dilates in light and contracts in dark and doesn't match the other pupil. We were both kind of stunned. Like, seriously? She just happens to develop this disorder the same week she has surgery? And evidently the answer is yes.

I think I have officially burned out my adrenal gland. I missed my first session in three weeks with my T today to take my daughter to her appointment (not complaining mind you, just noting) but we have a couples' appt tomorrow at 4:30 so I'll get to see him. Thank you all again.

Oh AG what a tough week Frowner I started to tear - I'm really sorry. Your kid just can't catch a break this week. Glad it was not a stroke or a tumor... Not that I'm saying I'm glad it's a disease but it sounds survivable. They didn't say if it could e cause by allergies from surg? So strange. Your daughter is lucky to have you.

Thank you so much for the update and sorry you miss what was probably a much needed session today. Tomorrow I hope will be a good pause.

Thinking of you.
(((AG)))

I'm also relieved to hear it wasn't a stroke or tumor, and hopefully this rare disorder doesn't have any long term implications? She's been through so much, and mothers always suffer as much or more when a child is sick.

What a stressful week for your family and I'm hoping you can see your T soon for that missed appointment. I'm sure it has helped to know he is there for you.

Hugs

Summer
