Hi; maybe some of you guys who've been seeing your t's for a lot longer than I have can give me some advice.

My T runs her own business and works from home. Recently I found out from her business website that she'd raised her fees for face to face sessions. She hadn't told me she was going to do this, but naturally at my next session I offered her the increased amount. She declined it, saying it was just for new clients. I tried to say that if i went to the shop for a loaf of bread and they'd put the price up they would expect me to pay the higher amount even if I had been an existing customer!!

Is this usual practice? I just don't want her to think I'm having my sessions at a special rate - she is running a business after all.

BTW; she does have a very relaxed way with her clients, no formal signed agreements and the like, so maybe that's just how she works.

Perhaps good old fashioned compromise might work, I'll ask if I can pay her half the increase and she what she says. Any thoughts anyone??

Hi Av! Smiler
Here where I live they call what she did "grandfathering you in." That's common here for wide-ranging things like music lessons, private tutors, land purchases, etc. The contractor is honoring the individual contract, which is showing respect to you. I can understand wanting to pay more though, especially if you feel what you receive in return is more than a fair trade, so to speak.

Smiles,
Starry
