Hi All,

I've been seeing T for almost 2 years now. I've never called her or messaged her outside of session. She told me I could if I ever needed her. I just didn't want to be a bother or become too dependent on her. Anyway, for the first time I called my T to let her know the good news that I received. It felt soooo good to leave her a message and have her call me back and leave me a message. Oh...and my good news is that I've been accepted to school to become a T!!!! Yeah!

I'm also nervous and panicking about how I'm going to juggle being a single mom, part time work, full time school and volunteer activities too. I'm having self doubt issues about the actual school part too.

Athenacus,
That is awesome!! Thanks for letting us know!

That is also awesome that you reached out to share this with your T.

As for the fear, it's only natural to be a little scared when starting something new and challenging, but the fact that you were accepted into the program proves you have the ability to do this. It is a lot of handle being a single mom, working full time and going to school, so it's good you're not assuming this will be a cake walk and then being shocked. But I know that you can do it. You've already shown your determination and your willingness to work hard to get to this point and both will see you through.

Hi Athenacus... that is great news, both about your T calling you back and also about getting accepted to school. What degree are you working towards? Will you be attending a brick and mortar school (meaning in person not on line)?

I am currently in school and will be graduating next month with my B.S. in Psychology and hoping to go on to Grad school for clinical psychology or mental health counseling. I also work full time and have a family. It's extremely exhausting and you have to be very organized and disciplined in order to be successful. But if you enjoy reading, research and writing (TONS of writing papers) then you will enjoy success in school while also being able to be a mom and work too. You are probably younger than I am so you would have more energy to begin with LOL.

I wish you lots of good luck and if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Thank you, all! You are a wonderfully supportive community! I'm happy I found you.

TN-or shall I say TNT? Wink Congrats on getting the BS in psych next month! That's awesome! I will be attending a brick and mortar/face to face counselor program. I'm going to be 38 years old soon. I graduated from college 16 years ago with a BA in a social science. I went back this year to take some undergrad psych classes. I'm in two online currently.
Thank you for your offer to help me with questions. I may take you up on it one of these days.
