My T was trying to teach me some deep breathing and relaxation exercises today. I ended up so deeply relaxed I was nearly (mostly) asleep, lol.

I was happy to experience that I'm comfortable enough with T that she can talk me to sleep in less than five minutes. It feels like a good thing, reflective of a level of trust and a feeling of safety.

I have felt so sleepy when I dissociate and are having a bad time with the content that I am in a dark tunnel and i feel asleep. I am sooo tired. I know if I shut my eyes I would go into a deep sleep.

My T.... used to be very sleepy if I saw her in the afternoons. We ended up having a few ruptures and I said one of the reasons is that she seemed vague and not listening to me. She said that with me she needed to be very awake and in tune and that having a session in the afternoon was a bad combination for her. So we ALWAYS meet in the mornings now when she is fresh. Ha ha.

SD,
That is interesting. . . I never feel sleepy when I dissociate. I feel cut off from things, numbed, frozen, far away, but also very tense. It's a strange feeling. I suppose it is dissociation? Maybe it takes different forms.

Anyway, that is funny about your T being more alert in the morning. Maybe she should have an afternoon coffee? lol. Glad you two worked out a solution though.
