I'm so sorry, how awful... Frowner Frowner Frowner

Yes, there are attornies who do sometimes take legal action against therapists. You would want to look for a lawyer who handles malpractice or personal injury law. They sometimes offer free initial consultations. They could best advise you about your legal options. You could also write a letter of demand, stating you want a full refund or you will pursue legal options. I am not sure that would be a good idea to have direct contact though with your former T who was so terrible. You could also look into criminal charges too... It would be really good to talk to your current T about how to get support through this though, no matter what you do. Any legal action and/or contact with your old former T/criminal T will take a toll emotionally - it would on anyone who has been through the awful things you have been through. Taking legal action against a T is something to consider carefully, even if you have a great case. It will likely take a lot of time, and your records *could* (maybe/maybe not) become public record, and at the very least, scrutinzed by a handful of people, including your T's lawyer, and his possible malpractice insurance company. There could be lots of benefit, but there could also be lots of pain too - and it would be really good to have lots of support while going through the process.

I'm really glad you have a good healthy T. So sorry for what you have been through. Frowner
