Well... I've come to the conclusion that I like the sunshine much more than it likes me Smiler

Yes, I had sunscreen on. Yes, I reapplied every hour AND every time I got out of the pool. I just didn't reapply evenly... and I look like a red and white calico cat Eeker

Best sunburn remedies? I have been applying vinegar to the burned patches every half hour or so... but what else? I don't think it would be appropriate to show up at work nekkid tomorrow, but right now, that's about the only thing I can wear!!

Take a cool bath and stay in as long as you can

Apply Aloe Vera Gel

find a shirt that allows you to wear a sports bra rather then a real bra and choose some softer pants with out a tight waist.

take some pain killer.

There is also a spray on sunburn spray i can't remember what it is called but you get it at the drug store.

CNC
CNC - I googled the sunburn spray and think I will pick some up tomorrow if I'm still this red Frowner

I read online that vinegar takes away the heat and redness, and leaves you with more of a tan. So I've spent the last 3 hours or so keeping vinegar soaked clothes on the patches of burn.

Now that I'm heading to bed, I slathered on a ton of aloe vera! I'm just glad I had some left from last summer!

JD - I didn't think about neosporin, but I'll be applying that to the patches on my face. Seriously, I look like a red and white blob right now! Too bad we're not near halloween, I'd be able to go without costume!!
Water... not my favorite thing, but I do drink it as much as I can.

I went to work for the morning and was glad I already had scheduled the afternoon off. I was even more glad that my boss was out of the office, because I totally broke dress code today. Clothes hurt right now, so it was either break code, don't show up, or go in nekkid. Breaking dress code seemed to be the least harmful!
So it seems that I had more than a basic sunburn. The medication I'm on says "avoid prolonged sun exposure" and I believe the six hours I spent in the sun qualify as "prolonged."

Regular sunburns don't feel worse after three days, they feel better, which is when I started questioning... and considering it's six days after the burn, and I'm still in pain? Yeah.

So, my question is: When/if you've been on meds that require you to "avoid prolonged sun exposure" how do you deal with that? Where I live, summer is three short months that I count down for so I can spend the days in my pool, reading, swimming, relaxing. I am not going to give that up without a fight!
Hey all, thanks for thinking of me!

The sunburn is still there, only the patches have shrunk down considerably. It still itches like mad, and while it's not peeling, it's more like a lizard - molting in big, ugly patches. The doctor said that since it's a med reaction, I could be red in the burn spots for a few weeks Frowner
I did find a swim shirt (the breathable 3/4 sleeve mock turtleneck type) that is SPF 50, so that takes care of most of the torso... I haven't been back to the pool yet, though, so we'll see how it works?
