A psychiatrist blog that I read is doing a survey on how clients (or potential clients) feel about some legislation being passed in New York on mandatory reporting of patients considered dangerous-- i.e., would this legislation effect your decision to seek care?

One of the psychiatrists who writes the blog is going to be meeting with one of the legislators sponsoring the bill and was hoping to have some data to bring, but unfortunately the survey has not gotten enough responses to be meaningful so far.

I thought I'd post the link here in case anyone had the time or inclination to participate. It's only two or three questions long. There's also an interesting discussion in the comment thread (might be triggering if you are having SU struggles).

Oh, geez, I didn't know that was going on. I read somewhere that more people who arent mentally ill (well, I guess that's debatable) kill with guns than those who are mentally ill. As Irishspirit said, it's just a knee-jerk reaction to help people feel as though we have control over their lives. The legislation should be in the gun control area. Just my opinion.
