During the last session a week ago before the Therapist went on vacation he said to me, "I will see you in two weeks. This is my word and commitment."

I came across this response following the reading of a blog entry: "My current therapist, bless her heart, has never even hinted at liking me in the vaguest possible sense. I love her to death and try to simply hold on to the fact that whatever she feels about me at any given moment, she’s committed enough to see me through the work that needs to happen. That kind of commitment is a very powerful form of love in itself."

I can definitely relate to the words above. When I read this, it brought back what the Therapist had spoken to me about his commitment to me. It's as if I do not hear these words when I am in the office with him and then I will read something and it will bring to mind what he said to me.

If anyone is interested in reading the Blog, it is called What a Shrink Thinks and the title of the article is: Unspoken.
