Therapist Jason Mihalko has written a beautiful, intense and challenging series of blog posts on patient suicide, which begins here:

Posting for those who may find it healing.

Edited to add: If this would be better in the Sensitive Issues forum, please could a moderator move it? I don't have access there.

Saw this post via my email a few days ago but just now had the time due to the busy holiday season to sit down and read it. Actually, I haven't finished the entire series, just the first three so far, but I have bookmarked the blog and plan to keep reading. Very insightful look into suicide from the perspective of the therapist's chair. Thank you for sharing, Jones. Gives me a lot to think about.
Years ago a friend of mine SUed (not sure how to write that) We shared a mutual birthday and she ended her life on my birthday. We were to get together that day. I kept calling her wondering where she was. Finally two days later I called her mother. That's when I learned. She was seeing a therapist at the time. I am sure he was devastated as well. I only read a small amount on this link before the tears came out. It is very touching, sad and tragic. Things like this keep me from acting on such urges.
