my p suggested i try it (i opted not) for mood stabilization and sleep assistance at night.

the wellbutrin keeps me up, and the lunesta is loosing it's effectiveness.

i am trying liquid melatonin, and it helps somewhat.

i have read about topamax and hair loss, which i can't take, my hair is thin enough. and i don't need any more weight loss than this whole 'frontal lobotomy' of therapy for the past year has cost me.

opinions?? the mood stabilization aspect sounds good, although i am neither manic or suicidal...if that is 1-10, i run 3-8...

curious if it has worked for anyone? (and without hair loss)

DF..what, if you don't mind me asking, are you taking for a mood stabilizer. the topamax has this hair loss thing with it. can't take that. i'll look up trazadone for sleep. apparently lunesta gets less effective over time, and the wellbutrin jazzes me up a bit.

getting this medicine right is a real pain in the keister. thanks
Hi Jill,

I take Topamax and have hair loss. I'm wanting to go off of it, but don't see a psychiatrist (my first) until Nov. 2. It has helped my mood, but yeah, I wouldn't take it if you have thin hair already. Good luck with finding something else. Lamictal might help you. I was on that with Wellbutrin before. The only side effect I had with it was low back aches, but it affects everyone differently.

Take care,
MTF
