I am feeling lost and very alone and lonely. I am embarrassed about this, but really wanting to deal with it. I am not a particularly extroverted person. I simply feel like I am very alone even in a group of people. I am wondering if anyone else feels this way and what helps? It is kind of new for me.

I find in a group being less "self focused" (in my head) by purposely trying to be in the moment, noticing things around me, talking to other people at first with a focus on themselves to open myself up feels better. It doesn't feel like denial of my experience so much as taking a break from myself.

During the day I feel less lonely by getting outside and walking. Anyway, that's what has worked for me.
Hey Lizzie, I kind of do what catalyst does, getting out and being physical. Sweating and breathing hard relieves many things.

Do you have a pet? I find that helps also. I have a little pup and she has literally saved me these last couple of years. Didn't want her at first but she really was supposed to be in my life. I hope you can find some relief from the loneliness.
