Oh, sweetheart, congratulations- this post completely made my day. What an inspiration. You are choosing to find joy and to ignore despair, and for me that is a lesson I feel blessed to be a spectator of..so thanks so much for the great humility and courage in sharing this with us. Yes of course your kids eyes would light up- it gives others joy when we choose to say no to our feelings which are not always our friends and instead consciously and purposefully do things that, even if not *felt* still reflect a *choice* to value ourselves- and let others love us- I think those things especially mean a lot to our kids, they are so in tune with stuff like that.I feel so blessed and so honored to read this. Good for you!

And a very happy birthday to you!

Love,

BB

Thanks, STRM! One of the reasons I hesitated to post is that I know you're in such a hard place right now...I didn't want to be all -- hey! I'm great! Look at me! Know that I care about you and have so much hope for you...that things WILL get better. You're doing good work, STRM. It will pay off.

Oh gosh BG, please don't ever not post something good just because I'm in a bad place. Seriously! I love reading good stuff and it made me excited that you were so excited about your b-day. I hope it is awesome!!!
A Very Happy Birthday, BG. I am so excited for you and your wonderful plans. I hope you enjoy the concert, the new fun clothes and time with your dh to just have a good time. You really worked hard and you deserve it.

BTW, I love that your boys were excited about your gifts. My son is the same way. His excited face is better than the actual gift.
