LG... that made me smile too. I have to say that she sounds wonderful. She really understands what would make you send that kind of email. She has probably figured out you are always in that bind of wanting to run away from her and cling to her ankles at the same time!
I often feel that way. I told my T that I may look like I'm sitting down in the chair across from him but I have one foot out the door at all times and am ready to run at the first sign... of whatever... LOL. He smiles and nods and I stay and we talk. So nice to find someone who gets it.
Good luck on Friday.

your T rocks! that's pretty cool LG! I think you should be smiling.
I'm glad your T replied so well. It is funny. I've quit by email more times than I can count. My T always tells me that he hopes I change my mind and he will keep my next session open for me. Once I was talking to him on the phone and I told him I wasn't sure I was coming to my session and he said he was okay with me deciding later. I said I guess you won't be surprised if I don't show up and he said "I'd be really surprised if you don't show up". I laughed.
lg, that is the greatest. y'no, what i love about it, is that you aren't beating yourself up (as i do) for being 'flaky' (in need of therapy).
please don't be offended by my shorthand.
THAT is progress, to be able to laugh at ourself and not take all this, and life, SOOOOOOO seriously.
good for you! jill

LG,
I'm sure you weren't feeling so great when you sent her your termination email but your story brought a much-needed smile to my face.

lol, i love this description. So true....its that push/pull dynamic. I hate you, don't leave me!
So glad she gets it and even more grateful that she puts up with it.
Your T sounds wonderful. Glad I'm not the only one who is constantly debating between telling T to have a nice life and asking him to promise to live forever, just in case I need that long to be ready to say goodbye.
